Hollywood studios finally issued a long waited press release : » We want to apologize for having imposed actress Keira Knightley in every period drama we produced last decade. We noticed that her body is exactly the opposit of what is needed for wearing a period costume (except for 1920 period) and hope that our audiences will understand that we rather hired a bankable actress than an accurate period actress, as she was able to make millions of dollars in the first « Pirates of the Caribbean ». Recent research indicates that the audiences in fact came to watch a young unknown actor called Johnny Depp, and not miss Knightley at all, and that they might prefer watching the actress in non-period movies. We are now ready to open our castings to other actresses(*) ». We immediatly called french studios, asking them if they were going to do the same about Léa Seydoux and stop hiring this actress for every french period-drama, but none answered publicly. Only one of them told us on condition of anonymity that french studios were not able to refuse miss Seydoux’s grandpa money, as he is Pathé Studios’ big boss. He too encouraged us not to miss « Diary of a chambermaid » soon in theatres, with Léa Seydoux as main character.
