It appears that the pleating was made, and then the bodice and skirts sewn together right side to right side, with backstitches using quite coarse and strong thread -- it looks like silk from the gleam but am not sure.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do I see that the lower row of pleat stitching is actually sewn around -- or wrapped around -- a cord?
